CIVIL WAR

Ship’s Company’s Civil War Navy group provides a living history day onboard USS Constellation in Baltimore, generally on the last Saturday of every month, April through October.

THE SHIP’S COMPANY CHANTEYMEN

The Ship’s Company’s Chanteymen have hosted weekly chantey sings in the DC area since 1996 and virtual “pubsings” from 2020-2022. All have the same format (you can lead the group in a maritime song, request a song, or ‘pass’ ie just singing the choruses or listening) and usually the same times (8pm to 10pm Eastern). No cover, all places have great food and drink, and a good time is had by all. More details on the Chanteymen Facebook Page.

1st Thursdays (except March): The Auld Shebeen Irish Pub & Restaurant in Fairfax, VA (https://theauldshebeenva.com/). Held 8-10pm in the expansive cellar, some of the pubsing patrons gather the hour prior to eat upstairs in the main pub, & drinks purchased upstairs taken down the spiral stairs for the pubsing itself.

2nd Wednesdays: The Anchor Bar (https://www.anchorbarbaltimore.com/) in the basement of the Admiral Fell Inn, in Fell’s Point, Baltimore MD. 8-10pm. This is a bar (ie drinks only; ok, a few snacks), but if you want dinner, lots of restaurant choices on the waterfront street the hour prior.

2nd Fridays: The Colonial Inn (& Spencer’s Tavern) in Hillsborough NC. 7-9pm. Both food & drinks available, and free street parking.

3rd Thursdays: we recommend Chanteymen friend Johnny Strumm’s pubsing at Limerick Irish Pub, Wheaton MD. Food & drink available. 8-10pm.
